The power of an elegant and balanced red Grand Vin from Saint-Julien
An iconic Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Julien, the prestigious Château Léoville Poyferré has achieved great success with its exceptional 2018 vintage, one that combines the power of 2016 and the elegance of 2010.
A vintage marked by extreme climatic contrasts, 2018 nevertheless allowed each grape variety and each plot to express itself in the blend of the Château Léoville Poyferré Grand Vin. The grape harvest began on September 20th and finished on October 12th, carried out under calm climatic conditions, and yielding perfectly ripe fruit.
Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (64%), Merlot (30%), Cabernet Franc (3%) and Petit Verdot (3%), the Château Léoville Poyferré 2018 was matured in oak barrels (80% new oak) for 18 to 20 months. Offering a pure expression of the Saint-Julien terroir, the Château Léoville Poyferré 2018 seduces with its power, structure and aromatic complexity. A magnificent Saint-Julien Grand Cru Classé that is elegant and balanced, with an exceptional ageing potential.
