A fruit-forward and structured red Grand Vin from Haut-Médoc

Situated on the left bank of Bordeaux, in the commune of Cissac-Médoc, Château Larrivaux is one of the most beautiful references of the Haut-Médoc appellation.

While the weather conditions at the beginning of the year threatened a complicated vintage, 2018 ended up in triumph, the newest victory against the challenges posed by nature.

At Château Larrivaux, a strong mildew pressure required constant work from the property’s technical teams. The great summer and autumn weather helped promote the ripening of the fruit. Beginning on October 1 and ending on the 12th, the grape harvest promised the best.

The Château Larrivaux 2018 is the estate’s Grand Vin, made from a blend of Merlot (64%), Cabernet Sauvignon (26%), Cabernet Franc (3%) and Petit Verdot (7%).

Each grape variety used in the Château Larrivaux 2018 contributes its personality in the blend. The Merlot brings intense fruity notes, while the Cabernet and Petit Verdot give it a beautiful structure, high-quality tannins, power and flexibility. Rewarding the great effort of the technical teams and the commitment of Bérangère Tesseron, 2018 has undoubtedly joined the ranks of the greatest vintages at Château Larrivaux.
