The estate

Château Langoa Barton is a Third Cru Classé in 1855 in the Saint-Julien appellation on Bordeaux's Left Bank. The property was acquired in 1821 by the influential trading company Barton & Gustier, already experienced in producing wines from this area around Château Léoville Barton, acquired by the same family in 1826. Today, the Barton family continues to run the estate.

The vineyard

Château Langoa Barton 2016 is a Saint-Julien wine from a 17-hectare vineyard. The vines are on average 35 years old, planted on gravel with clay subsoils.

Winemaking and ageing

Harvesting for the 2016 vintage took place from September 29 to October 1. The wine was aged in barrels (60% new).

Blend

Cabernet Sauvignon (55%), Merlot (37%) and Cabernet Franc (8%).

Nose
