The estate

Premier Cru Classé de Sauternes in 1855, Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey is one of the most prestigious names in the emblematic sweet wine appellation located in the south of the Bordeaux region.

The vineyard

Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey 2022 is a Sauternes wine made from the historic 1855 plots at the heart of the property, covering 17 hectares of the 32-hectare estate.

Winemaking and ageing

Due to the particularly warm weather conditions in 2022, the choice of a late start to the harvest was beneficial, resulting in 100% botrytised grapes, ideally concentrated in aroma and sugar. The yields are 10 hl/ha. Following the harvest from 17 to 27 October, fermentation took place for 25 to 30 days in French oak barrels. The wine was aged for 10 months in barrels (1/3 of which are new), followed by 8 months in stainless steel vats.
