Description
An elegant and expressive Côtes de Provence rosé wine by LVMH
The estate
A Cru Classé de Provence since 1955, Château Galoupet was acquired in 2019 by Moët Hennessy, the Wine & Spirits division of the LVMH group, whose goal is to enhance these prestigious terroirs.
The vineyard
Château Galoupet watches over 77 hectares of classified woodland and 69 hectares of vines, which have been undergoing an organic conversion since August 2020. The estate's terroir comprises 41 individually vinified plots. Following the acquisition of the estate, Moët Hennessy carried out a thorough study of the soils (lasting 3 years), tended to the entire vineyard with the utmost care and modernised the winemaking tools in order to produce a fine Côtes de Provence wine.
The wine
The first vintage to be revealed following the acquisition and made from 100% of the estate's grapes, Château Galoupet 2021 reflects both the richness of the great terroirs of Provence and the environmental approach used by the LVMH group. Their philosophy is reflected through the environmentally friendly viticultural practices along with the innovative packaging; an amber glass bottle that is 70% recyclable and very light.
Vinification and ageing
Since 2021, the use of a new press protects the grapes from oxidation beautifully and a gentle pressing preserves the aromatic purity of the pulp. The wines are vinified and aged in a state-of-the-art barrel cellar, allowing for temperature control during fermentation and thus, an optimal expression of the terroir. The final blend took place on January 25th.
The blend

Syrah (15%)

Château Galoupet 2021: Characteristics and tasting tips
The tasting
Nose
Complex and intense, the nose combines fruity (peach) and floral fragrances with notes of citrus fruit and bitter almonds.
Palate
Beautifully round, this wine seduces the palate with its density, its structure as well as its long and mineral finish reminiscent of the delicate Mediterranean sea breeze that brushes over the estate's vineyards.
Food and wine pairing
Enjoy as an apéritif, this Provence rosé wine will complement a lamb chop served with rosemary or a spicy green curry, but also with desserts.
