Built on a rocky spur in the 18th century, Château de Chamirey enjoys a privileged location in the heart of the best terroirs of Mercurey in the Côte Chalonnaise. With a total of 6 Premier Crus, they are famous for their Premier Cru 'Clos des Ruelles' red monopoly and Premier Cru 'La Mission' white monopoly, the exceptional terroirs for which Château de Chamirey is renowned.
The wine
The 'Clos des Ruelles' Premier Cru plot is a monopoly held by Château de Chamirey, an exceptional terroir for which the estate is renowned.
The vineyard
Mercurey Premier Cru Clos des Ruelles Monopole 2022 is a Burgundy wine from a terroir where the oldest vines were planted in 1954. This south-east-facing plot favours optimal ripening of the grapes. The clay-limestone soil is ideal for growing Pinot Noir.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes are harvested and sorted by hand, before being vinified naturally. This Mercurey wine is then aged in oak barrels.
