Description

The aromatic richness and smoothness of a Champagne wine by Deutz

The estate

The Deutz Champagne House was founded in 1838 in Aÿ by two Prussians, one of which was William Deutz. One was a wine merchant and the other sold champagne. The two founders were both equally involved in bottling, disgorging, dosage and labelling, even before they owned their own champagne and vineyards. Throughout the 20th century, the heirs of the founders gradually shaped the vineyard by buying plots in the best terroirs of the Champagne region. Today, the Deutz Champagne House is owned by the famous Roederer family. The great history of Deutz champagnes portrays a harmonious style between both virtuosity and refinement.

The vineyard

This Amour de Deutz 1999 champagne is made from exceptional vineyards of the Côte des Blancs.

The wine

Produced only during the most exceptional vintages, Amour de Deutz is a perfect expression of the Chardonnay varietal from the historic Grands Crus.

The blend

Amour de Deutz 1999 is a 100% Chardonnay.

Amour de Deutz 1999: Characteristics and tasting tips

The tasting

Colour

Pale gold in colour, clear, brilliant and crystalline, with a fine and regular effervescence.

Nose

On the nose, this champagne offers subtle fragrances of white flowers (honeysuckle, jasmine, narcissus, lily) along with exotic fruits (pineapple, kumquat, papaya...), all enhanced by subtle notes of roasted hazelnuts.

Palate

Amour de Deutz 1999 is a full-bodied champagne and boasts a light and velvety texture. It evolves towards more acidic and refreshing citrus flavours and ends on a spicy note.
