Description
A intense and velvety great Tuscan red wine
The estate
Castello Banfi is a family-run vineyard in the heart of the Tuscany region. Respectful of tradition and reactive to its vineyards, the Banfi family is internationally recognised for its excellence in the production of great Italian red wines. Banfi was one of the pioneers in research into the cloning of the Sangiovese grape variety in 1982, always with the aim of producing great Tuscan wines.
The vineyard
Produced since 1978, this Brunello di Montalcino wine from Castello Banfi is developed from a vineyard placed on the estate’s hill. According to their positions, the soils are made up of clayey sand or limestone rocks.
Winemaking and ageing
Fermentation took place in French oak and stainless steel vats, followed by ageing in French oak casks for at least 2 years.
Blend
Sangiovese (100%)
