Description
A Polished and Elegant Cabernet Sauvignon from St. Eden
It was legendary Napa Valley vintner Bill Harlan who founded BOND Estates and produced its very first vintage in 1997 at his famous Harlan Estates. Just three years later, in 2000, the BOND winery was finished, dedicated exclusively to the wines of the BOND label. The signature wines of BOND are 5 single-vineyard, single-variety wines of Cabernet Sauvignon. Each one has its own unique personality and offers a genuine expression of its terroir of origin in California's Napa Valley. The St. Eden 2014 of BOND is a red wine made exclusively with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes harvested from BOND's St. Eden vineyard. The northern-facing vines are planted in rocky red soils rich in iron, between elevations of 145 and 188 feet above sea level. The wines of St. Eden are cherished for their wonderful precision, intense aromatic and flavour concentration, and a relatively high acidity despite the low elevation of its vineyard of origin.
The BOND St. Eden 2014 offers a hauntingly beautiful expression of Cabernet Sauvignon from one of the very best Cabernet Sauvignon terroirs in the world. On the nose, intense notes of cherry come through, along with rich aromas of cocoa, spicy hints of liquorice and lead pencil. On the palate, this wine is enchanting, showing off a great finesse and silky smooth tannins that coat the mouth with its texture. An extremely polished and elegant wine with a finish rich with luscious fruit. This wine shines best when aged for at least 6 years in the bottle, but will continue to evolve until 2030- 2050.
