Description

Where balance meets elegance, a fine Italian wine by Antinori

The estate

Prunotto is located in an area that enjoys a long and rich winegrowing, cultural, historical and traditional history. The wines produced by this estate showcase the typical aromas of the grapes grown in these hills. The estate’s various vineyards are located in the best agricultural areas of Piedmont. Prunotto uses all the modern technology required to produce high quality Italian wines.

The vineyard

The estate’s 50 hectares of vines are located in Alba, between Barbaresco and Barolo. Prunotto is established on a beautiful, smooth and colourful area in the Langhe and Roero regions.

The vintage

The 2018 vintage began with a long winter marked by heavy rainfall. The winter season lasted until the beginning of March with below average temperatures. Spring and the first part of summer are marked by frequent rainfall and cool weather. From mid-July onwards, temperatures rose significantly: this long and stable period of pleasant weather favours the even ripening of the grapes. Harvesting began on October 2nd and ended on October 10th.

Vinification and ageing

The selected grapes were destemmed and crushed. Maceration lasted about 8 days at a maximum temperature of 30°C. The wine was aged for at least 18 months in different-sized oak barrels, which gives the wine a great balance.

The blend

Nebbiolo (100%).
