Description
Altesino releases a full and airy Tuscan red wine
The estate
Located in the heart of southern Tuscany, Altesino is an estate whose exceptional terroir was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2004.
With its highly respectful approach to the vines and the surrounding nature, this estate excels in the production of great Brunello di Montalcino DOCG wines, one of the main appellations in Italy. A forerunner, the Altesino estate introduced two major innovations within the appellation, with the introduction of the notion of "cru" in 1975 and barrel vinification in 1979.
Reacting to the terroir, hard work and precision both in the vineyard and during vinification are the keystones of this estate, which extends over 80 hectares, 44 of which are vineyards, and is renowned for the high quality of its Tuscan wines.
