The estate

The oenologist Xavier Vignon has built up an international reputation by providing his expert advice to over 200 estates and by helping to produce the most prestigious wines in the Rhône Valley, notably in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. In 2002, he began to produce his own "Xavier" wines, blending the finest "juices" from meticulously selected parcels. No restrictions regarding the terroir or the grape variety, Xavier Vignon creates his ideal wine: simple, modern, and that boast a great quality and price. The 100% Xavier was born.

The wine

This 2019 Châteauneuf-du-Pape by Xavier Vignon comprises a selection of grapes from over 40 different plots, planted on the coolest terroirs of the appellation.

Vinification and ageing

While the Roussanne variety is fermented and aged for 6 months in oak barrels, the Clairette and Grenache grapes are fermented at low temperature to preserve their minerality. After blending, the wine is aged in concrete and stainless steel tanks.

The blend

This 2019 Châteauneuf-du-Pape from Xavier Vignon is a blend of Grenache Blanc (40%), Roussanne (40%) and Clairette (20%).
