For over twenty years, the exceptional winegrower, Xavier Vignon, has been considered one of the finest experts in the Southern Rhône Valley. Each wine by Xavier Vignon accurately reflects the desire to reveal the identity of the fine Rhône Valley terroirs, all while expressing his own identity: the Xavier Vignon identity. His exclusive innovations only enhance his creativity, such as the Arcane collection, which promises to take wine lovers on an incredible sensory wine tasting experience.

The vineyard

All the wines by Xavier Vignon stem from the Rhône Valley. For the Arcane collection, the winemaker meticulously selects his terroirs in order to explore their full potential. Arcane XIV La Tempérance comprises a selection of terroirs from the Garrigues in the southern part of the Cairanne appellation, but also in the northern part and on the Miocene hillsides. This wine is an organic wine.

The wine

The epitome of balance and tranquility, Arcane XIV La Tempérance manages to combine the powerful expression of the old Grenache grapes with the Syrah grapes and with the unique character of the 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 vintages, all of which create a perfectly harmonious ensemble.

Vinification and ageing

The winemaking process has been entirely designed to express purity. The vinification process and ageing period took place in Wine Globes, small 200-litre glass containers.

Grenache (90%) and Syrah (10%).

The tasting

Nose

The aromatic bouquet reveals aromas of black cherries and plums combined with hints of leather.

Palate

Arcane XIV La Tempérance is a full-bodied yet supple wine, with silky tannins and a sublime concentration and structure. 

Food and wine pairing

This wine pairs beautifully with marinated peppers, tomatoes stuffed with goat cheese, beef Stroganoff, veal with rosemary, mushroom pie or a Saint Félicien cheese.

Service and storage

Arcane XIV La Tempérance by Xavier Vignon will reveal its full aromatic potential until 2035/2040. For an optimal tasting experience, serve between 15 and 17 degrees.
