The refinement and vivacity of a Chilean wine
The property
Located in the Cachapoal Valley, on the foothills of the Andes, VIK is the first Chilean cru. Created by Alex and Carrie VIK, the estate has a vineyard of over 300 hectares in the Millahue Valley named by the indigenous Mapuche people "Lugar de Oro" or "Golden Place". Fruits of an exceptional terroir, combined with the best viticulture and winemaking techniques, the wines of the VIK estate are recognized for their elegance combined with a rare aromatic richness.
The vineyard
This 2018 cuvée is a Chilean wine made from vines grown in Millahue, in the Cachapoal Valley on a deep and porous granite soil.
The wine
This 2018 vintage is unveiled in an exclusive box resulting from a collaboration with the Chilean artist Totoy Zamudio. Close to Alexander and Carrie VIK, the artist, a graduate in Plastic Arts from the Finis Terrae University and holder of a Master's degree in Digital Animation from the Pompeu Fabra University (Spain), has imagined a box offering both an aesthetic and sensory experience highlighting his suggestive vision and unbridled creativity.
The vintage
The year 2018 stood out for its freshness. A revitalizing spring gave way to a mild and temperate summer, promoting a rapid maturation of the tannins, both crunchy and dynamic. The autumn, cool but not excessive, led to an early harvest, revealing ripe fruits with pure and captivating aromas.
Vinification and aging
This Central Valley wine benefits from a 26-month aging in French oak barrels.
Blend
Cabernet sauvignon (75%),
Cabernet franc (25%).
