Umani Ronchi releases a fresh and elegant fresh white wine
The estate
Located in the Marche region in eastern Italy, the Umani Ronchi estate cultivates 210 hectares of vineyards under organic agriculture principles. This estate is known as being one of the biggest in the Verdicchio dei Castelli Jesi appellations.
The vineyard
This Vecchie Vigne 2020 from Umani Ronchi is a Marche wine from a vineyard of 4 hectares. The vineyard is located between 250 and 300 metres of altitude on an east-facing slope. The clay soil is very deep, not very fertile and therefore ideal for the production of quality wines.
Winemaking and ageing
After gentle pressing, the first juice underwent static decantation. It was then transferred to stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16-18°C for alcoholic fermentation for 10-15 days. No malolactic fermentation to preserve the acidity and freshness of the wine. Initial aging of 10 months on the lees in concrete vats followed by an additional 6 months ageing in bottles.
