Description
The complexity and refinement of a Bas-Armagnac
The estate
Owned by the Westphal family, originally from Alsace, Château Saint-Aubin (Gers) is located close to the commune of Eauze.
The vineyard
Blanche d'Armagnac de Saint-Aubin, the flagship of the estate's wines and spirits, is a spirit made in one of the most emblematic wine-producing regions of Gascony, Bas-Armagnac. The vines here are planted on sandy-clay soils.
Winemaking and ageing
Following the harvest, the grapes were pressed before a natural vinification. The white wine was directly distilled in an « armagnacais » still. The eau-de-vie obtained was aged for some months in oak casks before being bottled.
