The estate
Rooted in the heart of the Vinho Verde wine region, Quinta do Ameal is a historic estate that was founded in 1710. The estate’s uniqueness lies in the beauty of its land but also in its glorious location in the Lima region, the cradle of the Loureiro grape.
Over the years, Quinta do Ameal has remained true to its origins and traditions, while boasting its organic viticultural practices. Quinta do Ameal is a pioneer in the production of high-quality wines from the Loureiro grape variety, that guarantee a great ageing potential.
The vineyard
Quinta do Ameal covers some 30 hectares in the Minho region, in the northwest of Portugal, 14 of which comprise Loureiro vines.
The wine
This 2019 Reserva by Quinta do Ameal stems from a plot in the Quinta of Marinhas and rest on sandy-silty granite soil.
Vinification and ageing
The hand-picked grapes are pressed in whole bunches. Cold settling of the must for 24 hours. Fermentation for 12 to 15 days. The wine is aged in 500 litre French oak barrels for around 12 months, followed by a further 6 months of bottle ageing.

Loureiro (100%).
The tasting
With a beautiful yellow colour, this white wine is seductive due to its floral and spicy aromas, its concentration and its volume. The finish is very persistent.
Storage
This Reserva 2019 by Quinta do Ameal can be kept in the cellar until around 2039 in order to reveal its full aromatic range.
