Description
A well-balanced and rich Barbaresco wine
The estate
A pioneer and visionary, Cesare Pio quickly realised the great potential of the illustrious terroirs of Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera. Founded in 1881 and reigning over a 50-hectare terroir, the Pio Cesare estate has been producing fine Piedmont wines for five generations, the deliberately limited quantity of which truly reflects their excellence.
The vineyard
The 2020 vintage of Pio Cesare's Barbera d'Alba wine is made from grapes grown in the family's vineyards in the Barolo (Serralunga d'Alba, Monforte d'Alba), Barbaresco (Treiso) and Langhe (Sinio and Diano d'Alba) regions.
Vinification and ageing
Fermentation in steel tanks. Maceration for 20 to 25 days. Aged for 12 months in oak barrels and tuns.
The blend
Barbera (100%).
