Description
A complex and balanced Barbaresco red wine
The estate
Since 1960, the Pelissero estate has been producing Piedmont wines that authentically express the fine nuances of emblematic Italian grape varieties such as Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto. The estate reigns over a 38-hectare vineyard that owes its uniqueness to its sandstone and blue marl soil.
The vineyard
Produced since 1960, Vanotu de Pelissero is a Piedmont wine made from vineyards in three different areas of Barbaresco (Treiso, Barbaresco, Neive). "Vanotu" is the nickname in Piedmontese dialect spoken by Giorgio Pelissero's grandfather.
Vinification and ageing
The vinification is carried out with a constant pursuit for concentration, fruitiness and fine tannins. The wine is aged for 20 to 22 months in barrels (80% of which are new), followed by 9 months in the bottle.
The blend
Nebbiolo (100%).
