Description
A fresh and fruity Margaux Second Wine
The estate
Located on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, Château Giscours is a historic property in the Margaux appellation, with vines first planted in the 16th century. This superb Margaux 3rd Cru Classé is a true flagship of the Bordeaux region, with its distinctive neoclassical palace architecture, its park of rare species and its buildings, including the beautiful "Ferme Suzanne." Since 1995, Château Giscours has entered a new era in its history following its acquisition by the Albada Jelgersma family.
The vineyard
The Château Giscours vineyard covers 95 hectares of vines in production, out of a total of 300 hectares. A real jewel in the crown of the Margaux appellation, the special feature of the Château Giscours terroir lies in the presence of 3 deep Garonne gravel hilltops, which play a decisive role in the grapes' ripening cycle.
