The estate

Emilio Moro has been a family-owned estate since its foundation in 1932. Over the years, it has become one of the finest references for Ribera del Duero wines, a wine-growing area located in the Castilla y León region of north-west Spain.

Following the philosophy of its founder, the passionate winemaker Don Emilio Moro, the estate has been producing exceptional wines for several generations, highlighting the tapestry of terroirs in this region, which is home to some of the most renowned bodegas such as Dominio de Pingus.

The wine

The estate's emblematic wine, this Ribera del Duero by Emilio Moro comes from a terroir located in the municipality of Pesquera de Duero. These south-west facing vineyards are planted on clay-limestone-stony soil.

The vintage

Although the beginning of 2019 was marked by an extremely rainy month of April, spring and summer conditions were characterised by low rainfall and high temperatures. The rainy spells that saved the vineyard and the ripeness levels of the grapes were recorded a few days before the harvesting of high-quality grapes that boasted an utterly healthy condition.

Vinification and ageing

Fermentation in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats. Malolactic fermentation. Aged in French and American oak barrels.
