The estate
Domaine Louis-Claude Desvignes has been established in the heart of the Morgon appellation in Beaujolais since 1772. Louis-Claude Desvignes, an emblematic figure of the Beaujolais region, has made the estate one of the most renowned names there. The Desvignes cuvées have been unanimously acclaimed by the press and international critics. Claude-Emmanuelle and Louis-Benoît, who represent the family's 8th generation of winemakers, now run the estate.
The vineyard
This Morgon wine comes from the vineyards of Louis-Claude Desvignes, covering 11 hectares spread across 3 different climats. Facing south-east on the slopes overlooking the Morgon appellation, the Côte du Py climat covers 2.20 hectares with vines that are on average 70 years old. The soil is composed of schist and disintegrated volcanic rock.
This 2021 vintage is certified organic.
