Description
A Loire white wine with enticing balance and vivacity
The estate
Arnaud, Lionel and Jean-Christophe Bourgeois are the third generation to run the family estate, which was founded in 1950 by Henri Bourgeois. With a surface area of 72 hectares, the Famille Bourgeois vineyard stretches across a mosaic of terroirs made up of clay-limestone soils, Kimmeridgian marl and flint, all of which contribute to the signature of each of these Loire wines. The Bourgeois family's passion and rigour, both in vineyard management and in plot-based vinification, of which they were one of the pioneers, have produced wines renowned for their quality, finesse and precision.
The vineyard
Demoiselle de Bourgeois 2018 is a Loire wine produced from a meticulous selection of grapes from St Laurent l'Abbaye, where the first vines were planted.
Winemaking and ageing
Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats (85%) and Tronçais oak barrels (15%). Finally, this Pouilly-Fumé wine is aged on fine lees for 7 to 8 months.
