Description
A Côtes du Roussillon Villages wine with an alluring elegance and aromatic expression
The estate
Selected as France’s Best Young Sommelier at the age of 21, Hervé Bizeul fell in love with the magical landscapes of the majestic Cirque de Vingrau, at the foot of the Eastern Pyrenees in the Roussillon. A restaurant owner, writer and a lover of both the soil and the vines, Hervé Bizeul founded Domaine du Clos des Fées with his wife in 1997. Over the years, Domaine du Clos des Fées has become a hallmark among the most beautiful Roussillon wines. Expressing their unique terroir of origin, these exceptional vintages exhibit an alluring intensity and balance all while presenting a great ageing potential.
The vineyard
Comprising around 30 hectares of vines and divided into 112 plots, Domaine du Clos des Fées watches over a tapestry of soils and vineyards that are managed using sustainable viticulture practices.
The wine
Produced in the Côtes du Roussillon Villages appellation, the 2019 De Battre Mon Coeur S'est Arrêté by Domaine du Clos des Fées stems from a south-facing plot of land, located on a hillside at an altitude of 600 metres. Acquired in 2017, this approximatively 3-hectare vineyard is unique due to its mineral, fertile and well-draining soil.
The blend
Syrah (100%).
