The estate

With origins dating back to the 14th century, Domaine des Sénéchaux is recognised as one of the oldest vineyards in Castro Novo, the land of Pape wines. A benchmark among the great wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the estate was acquired in 2006 by the Cazes family, who also own the prestigious Château Lynch-Bages, a Grand Cru Classé in Pauillac.

The vineyard

This Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine comes from a mosaic of terroirs, composed of rolled pebbles, red gravel, safre and sand, depending on the plot.

Winemaking and ageing

Vinification in concrete vats. Maceration lasts 30 days. The wine is then aged for 12 months in tuns (55%), old barrels (25%) and concrete vats (20%).

Blend

Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2020 from Domaine des Sénéchaux is a blend of Grenache (54%), Syrah (25%) and Mourvèdre (21%).
