The property
For centuries, perched on a majestic hill in Tain-l’Hermitage, stands a monument of viticulture: Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné. Embodying the quintessence of the great wines of the Northern Rhône Valley, the estate was taken over by the Frey Family in 2006. In search of innovation, the Frey family recently created a new setting for the production of two of its cuvées: La Chapelle and Chevalier de Stérimberg. Taking the name of the Domaine de la Chapelle, this new entity, which will be equipped with an exceptional cellar designed by the famous Danish architect Bjarke Ingels, reflects the quest for excellence led by Caroline Frey and her team to produce ever more precise wines.

La Chapelle 2022 – an exceptional red Hermitage
Resulting from a meticulous selection of the most beautiful terroirs of the west of the appellation, La Chapelle 2022 is a 100% syrah from old vines planted between 1955 and 1994. This wine stands out for its deep ruby color, an evolving nose, revealing aromas of black fruits, dried flowers and roasted notes, as well as a rich and powerful palate, marked by a beautiful persistence and mineral nuances.
Chevalier de Stérimberg 2022 – an elegant and refined white Hermitage
Coming from vines planted between 1956 and 1990 on clay-limestone and pebbly soils, Chevalier de Stérimberg 2022 is a harmonious blend of marsanne (87%) and roussanne (13%), bringing complexity and finesse to this cuvée. Its pale blonde color with silvery reflections precedes a subtle nose, mixing white flesh fruits, linden, fresh almond and delicate aging notes. On the palate, the attack is delicate and tasty, marked by the freshness of exotic fruits and white flowers. The finish, long and elegant, is distinguished by citrus zest and a brioche touch.
