The estate
Located in the Pic St Loup wine area, the Clos Marie estate was founded in 1995 by Françoise Julien and her winemaker husband Christophe Peyrus.
The name of the estate pays tribute to Françoise Julien's grandmother. Nicknamed Marie, she managed a few hectares of vines, whose juice was destined for a winemaking cooperative. The couple took over the running of the estate and carried out major work with the ambition of producing wines that would enhance the nuances and potential of these fine Languedoc terroirs.
Le Clos Marie currently reigns over a vineyard of around 22 hectares.
The vineyard
Métairies du Clos is a Languedoc - Pic Saint Loup wine that stems from vineyards planted at mid-slope on clay-limestone soils.
The blend
The 2018 Clos Marie Métairies du Clos comprises a blend of Grenache (50%), Carignan (30%) and Syrah (20%).
Cellaring
This Languedoc wine can be cellared until around 2033.
Service
For an optimal tasting experience, it is recommended to decant this wine before tasting it and serving it between 16 and 18°C.
