The estate

Led by Justine and Alfred Tesseron, Château Pontet-Canet has established itself as one of the pioneers of biodynamics in the Pauillac appellation with results exceeding all expectations. From vintage to vintage, the estate stands out as one of the most beautiful references of the prestigious appellation.

The vineyard
Certified Ecocert and Biodyvin for 10 years, the vineyard of Château Pontet-Canet, which extends over 81 hectares, is maintained with the utmost respect for the vine and the surrounding environment. The vines are worked with horses to avoid soil compaction. Biodynamics is applied on this essential domain of Pauillac. Through their work and knowledge of the vineyard, the technical teams of the estate help the vine to give its best.

Vinification and aging
For the first time in this 2019 vintage, the vinifications were carried out with manual sorting and destemming of the harvest without the use of machines. The vatting was carried out in whole grains with light punch-downs. The aging is carried out with 50% new barrels, 35% dolia barrels (custom-made concrete with elements from the Pontet-Canet terroir) and 15% barrels of one wine.

Blend
Cabernet sauvignon (65%), merlot (30%), cabernet franc (3%), petit verdot (2%).
