Description
A Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé by Château Monbousquet
The property
Located southwest of the village of Saint-Émilion, Château Monbousquet is a Grand Cru Classé whose 32-hectare vineyard presents a large mosaic of terroirs. Aged 42 years on average, the vines are planted on sandy and sandy clay soils with iron ore between 60 and 80 cm in depth, but also on sandy-gravel and sandy-clay soils.
The vinification and ageing
Harvested manually, the grapes are rigorously sorted before being vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Ageing is carried out in barrels (50% of which are new oak barrels and 50% second-fill barrels) with a final blend just before bottling.
The blend
The Château Monbousquet 2020 is made from a blend of Merlot (70%), Cabernet Franc (15%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (15%).
