Description

The finesse and aromatic intensity of a fine Pauillac wine

The estate

In the 18th century, Château Lynch-Moussas, like Château Lynch-Bages, belonged to the famous Lynch family of Irish origin. The Castéja family, who have owned land in Pauillac since the 16th century, acquired this château at the beginning of the 20th century.

The vineyard

Château Lynch-Moussas 2021 is a Pauillac wine that stems from a 62-hectare vineyard.

The vintage

The winter season was humid and alternated between mild and cool temperatures. Although budburst began on April 2nd, the vineyard was affected by the spring frost that occurred on April 7th and 8th. The warm and dry conditions throughout the month of May, which favoured a good flowering period, were offset by the cool temperatures and heavy rainfall during the month of June. The teams’ diligence enabled the vineyard to maintain a healthy condition. July and August, marked by shifting and cool weather, gave way to a wet beginning of September followed by a sunny and dry month of October. The harvest was carried out in a plot-by-plot manner and the grapes were harvested at optimum maturity in order to best reveal their quality, tannic structure and freshness.

Vinification and ageing

Aged exclusively in French oak barrels (60% new and 40% second fill).

The blend

Cabernet Sauvignon (72%)

Merlot (28%).
