The vivacity and depth of a Premier Grand Cru Classé from Sauternes
The property
Built in the 18th century, the Château La Tour Blanche now hosts the La Tour Blanche School of Viticulture and Oenology. A Premier Grand Cru Classé from Sauternes in 1855, Château La Tour Blanche, which has been owned by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region since 2010, now has an educational vocation while continuing to write the history of the great wines of Sauternes.
The vineyard
The Château La Tour Blanche is a Sauternes wine from a 40-hectare vineyard. This terroir benefits from the influence of morning fogs promoting the development of botrytis cinerea, the fungus that gives birth to noble rot. Château La Tour Blanche produces elegant wines in the shaded tranquillity of its cellars that proudly represent the appellation.
Vinification and ageing
Manual harvest in 3 passes. Ageing of 18 months carried out in new French oak barrels.
Blend
Sémillon (90%)
Muscadelle (10%).
