The estate

The Château's first wine, La Fleur de Boüard 2019 reveals the aromatic expression of the beautiful terroir of Lalande de Pomerol, an appellation located on the right bank of the Bordeaux region.

The vineyard

Château La Fleur de Boüard reigns over a mosaic of terroirs. This includes 16 hectares on clay-sandy soils upon gravel subsoils on the Néac plateau, 8 hectares all in one piece planted on a gravelly ridge with 15% to 20% clay upon the Lalande de Pomerol plateau, and finally 5.5 hectares on gravelly clay hills. The vines are 25 years old on average.

Vinification and ageing

Pre-fermentation maceration from 8 to 10 ° C. Alcoholic fermentation and maceration for 3 to 5 weeks. Vinification by gravity. Malolactic fermentation was carried out in barrels. Ageing lasted 18 to 24 months in French oak barrels (75 to 80% new barrels). The wine was neither fined nor filtred.

The blend

The Château La Fleur de Boüard 2020 was made from a blend of Merlot (82%), Cabernet Franc (9%), Cabernet Sauvignon (5%) and Petit Verdot (4%).
