Description
A refined and complex Pouilly-Fumé white wine
The estate
Although the earliest signs of this estate date back several centuries, Château de Tracy has become, over the years, an essential reference among fine Pouilly-Fumé wines.
Overlooking the Loire river, the estate watches over a 32-hectare vineyard which exclusively comprises Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The vines are planted on a true patchwork of soils whose heterogeneity gives these white Pouilly-Fumé wines a unique complexity and minerality.
The vineyard
Château de Tracy 2020 stems from vineyards located on the hillsides near the Loire river. Enjoying a south-western sun exposure, the vines are planted on soils composed of flint and Kimmeridgian limestone.
The vintage
Although the cool winter conditions delayed the vine’s budburst, the heavy rainfall recorded at the end of winter and the beginning of spring replenished the water reserves. The alternation between mild and cool temperatures throughout spring favoured an early and even flowering period. From mid-June and throughout the summer, there was a lot of sunshine and high temperatures. Thanks to the sufficient water reserves, the vines developed prosperously without being impacted by water stress. Harvesting began at the beginning of September, mostly early in the morning in order to benefit from the cooler weather. Several successive selections were carried out to ensure that the grapes were picked at optimum ripeness.

The tasting
Colour
This wine is a beautiful pale yellow colour with bright green highlights.
Nose
Intense, the nose gradually opens up with fragrances of blackcurrant, box tree, peppermint and tarragon. When aerated, notes of lemon, exotic fruit (mango, passion fruit), kiwi and spices emerge, combined with a beautiful minerality.
Palate
Full-bodied yet supple, the palate is seduced by this wine’s aromatic palette (blackcurrant, ripe fruit, lemon, exotic fruit, mango coulis). The palate is very smooth and harmoniously weaves into a long and structured finish with delicious notes of lime and grapefruit peel.
