Description
A fruity and elegant Côte de Brouilly wine
The estate
Located in Odenas, in the Beaujolais appellation, Château de La Chaize boasts a rich history that harks back to the 17th century. A 150-hectare vineyard, unique in its tapestry of soils, produces fine Brouilly, Côte de Brouilly and Fleurie wines that are greatly adored in the United States and by the Courts of England. In 2017 Christophe Gruy, an industrialist from Lyon, acquired the estate with the ambition of making it one of the most prestigious references among the fine Beaujolais wines.
The vineyard
The Lieu-dit "La Chaize" Monopole 2019 by Château de la Chaize is a Côte de Brouilly wine that stems from a steep parcel of land in the centre of which is the Clos de La Chaize, a prestigious terroir protected by walls dating from 1676. Situated behind the château, this hillside vineyard rests on porphyroid granite soils.
Vinification and ageing
Following the harvest, the grapes are 90% destemmed before being vinified with indigenous yeasts. Pumping over without punching down. Vatting for 14 days.
