A white wine from the Rhône Valley combining aromatic richness and elegance
The property
Founded in the 16th century, the Château de Beaucastel was taken over at the beginning of the 20th century by Pierre Tramier. While his son-in-law, Pierre Perrin, gave a new impetus to the estate, its significant reputation was developed beyond the borders thanks to Jacques Perrin. The sons and grandsons of Jacques Perrin still perpetuate today the quest for excellence of this family estate, which is one of the most beautiful labels of the Rhône Valley wines.
The vineyard
Château de Beaucastel oversees a 110-hectare vineyard in one piece to the north of the Châteauneuf-du-pape appellation. Conducted in Organic Agriculture since the 1960s, the vines are planted on soils composed of rolled pebbles on the surface as well as clay, sand and limestone in depth. 7 hectares are dedicated to the production of white wines.
The vintage
After a dry winter and a wet but healthy spring, the summer offered favorable conditions, despite a heatwave in August. The harvest, early and serene, delivered magnificent berries. The first tastings announce promising wines, of great freshness.
Vinification and aging
A manual harvest precedes a meticulous selection of the bunches. The grapes are then collected in crates to undergo pneumatic pressing. After settling, the fermentation takes place partially in oak barrels (30%) and in stainless steel tanks (70%). The wine's aging continues over a period of eight months, respecting the same distribution between barrels and tanks. Bottling after eight months.
Blend
100% roussanne.
