The estate

A 1st Grand Cru Classé B, Château Beau-Sejour Bécot shines bright in the Saint-Émilion appellation, on the right bank of Bordeaux.

The vineyard

Château Beau-Séjour Bécot produces fine Saint-Émilion wines from a 17-hectare vineyard. The vines are 34 years old on average and are planted on clay-limestone soils on the western plateau of Saint-Emilion.

Vinification and ageing

The grapes are harvested by hand within each plot, followed by destemming and manual sorting. Vinification by plot. Thermo-regulated vatting. Traditional alcoholic fermentation in inverted truncated cone vats. Vatting for 33 days. Gentle extraction. Maceration without oxygen exposure. Aged for 16 months in barrels (55% new, 25% second-fill barrels) as well as in 20-hl amphorae and tuns (25%).

The blend

Château Beau-Séjour Bécot 2021 comprises a blend of Merlot (85%), Cabernet Franc (13%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (2%).
