Description
The freshness and complexity of a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé
The estate
The name of Château Balestard La Tonnelle has a dual origin. "Balestard" is the name of a canon from the history of Saint-Émilion and "la Tonnelle" refers to an old stone watchtower dating from the 15th century, still present in the heart of the vineyard. This Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé is owned by the Capdemourlin family. Château Balestard la Tonnelle is cited in a poem by François Villon, which is showcased on the label.
The vineyard
Château Balestard la Tonnelle 2021 is a Saint-Emilion wine that stems from a 10.50-hectare vineyard. The vines are poised at the top of a hillside and rest on the appellation’s clay-limestone plateau.
The blend
Château Balestard la Tonnelle 2021 comprises a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
