Description
A fresh and balanced dry white Bordeaux wine
The estate
4th Cru Classé of Saint-Julien, the Château Talbot is one of the emblematic references of the Médoc. Acquired by Désiré Cordier in 1918, Château Talbot is today managed by Nancy Bignon-Cordier and her husband, Jean-Paul Bignon.
The vineyard
The Caillou Blanc 2023 is a dry white Bordeaux wine from vines averaging 45 years old. 5.2 hectares of Château Talbot are dedicated to the production of Caillou Blanc, the estate's white wine. The vines grow on a terroir of Médoc gravels.
Vinification and ageing
The grapes are hand-picked and then sorted in the vineyard before undergoing vinification exclusively in barrels (of which 40% are new). The ageing lasts 8 months on lees with stirring.
Blend
The Caillou Blanc 2023 from Château Talbot is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (71%) and Sémillon (29%).
