Description
A complex and balanced Bordeaux dry white wine
The estate
A 4th Classified Growth of Saint-Julien, Château Talbot is one of the most iconic references of the Médoc. Acquired by Desire Cordier in 1918, Château Talbot is today managed by Nancy Bignon-Cordier and her husband, Jean-Paul Bignon.
The vineyard
5.2 hectares of the Château Talbot vineyard are dedicated to the production of Caillou Blanc, the property's white wine.
The wine
Caillou Blanc by Château Talbot pays tribute to Georges Cordier who had the idea of replanting white grape varieties in the Médoc at the end of the 1930s. Caillou Blanc of Château Talbot invites you to discover the expression of a Bordeaux dry white wine, endowed with very fresh aromas and a beautiful liveliness on the palate.
Vinification and ageing
The hand-picked grapes are sorted in the vineyard and then vinified 100% in barrels, 30% of which are new. The wine is aged for 8 months on the lees with stirring.
The blend
Château Talbot's Caillou Blanc 2021 comprises a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (73%) and Semillon (27%).
